The Planning Commission reviews proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance, site plans and plat applications, and makes recommendations to the Council regarding the current and future development of Elwood. The Elwood Town General Plan serves as the guiding document used by the Commission when making planning related decisions. 

Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend Planning Commission meetings, which are held on the 1st and the 3rd Tuesdays of each month. Agenda items are due 2 weeks before each meeting. For more information, contact the Commission Secretary, Karolina Munns. [email protected]

Requirements for Placing Items on the Planning Commission Agenda:

Paperwork/Plats include any required application including applicable fees, along with any other required written documentation.  Any petition which does not include all required paperwork by the above outlined deadlines WILL NOT be placed on the Planning Commission agenda.

There is always the possibility that a planning meeting may be changed or canceled.  If this happens, every attempt will be made to notify the public of that decision.
